Ways to learn some quick, conversational spanish?

spanish lessons
Isabella’s mama (: asked:

I work at an organization that offers clothes, food and education assistance to those who need it. Probably 95% of people I deal with daily are spanish. I have a translator that stays with me, but often times I think it would be easier if I just knew a little spanish to help other people or to help myself when my translator is not with me. I don’t want to spend a great deal of money on lessons or software to learn. So, any suggestions?

What do you know about Spanish speaking people?

spanish lessons
malintzin asked:

I’m teaching a lesson on latin american culture, and I need some ideas of what most people know and don’t know. So give me anything (even stereotypes) that you know about spanish-speaking people please.
TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO THINK I WANT TO STEREOTYPE READ THIS PLEASE!
I AM NOT TRYING TO STEROTYPE! I’M TRYING TO DO THE OPPOSITE! THE REASON FOR ME POSTING THIS QUESTION IS TO SEE SOME OF THE MORE IGNORANT ANSWERS THAT PEOPLE MIGHT ASK IN CLASS SO THAT I CAN BE READY TO CORRECT THEM. THANK YOU.

Paris H asked:

Write a dialogue in Spanish between two people about either the weather, sports, ordering a meal, or getting directions. Use five to ten sentences. You are not allowed to simply copy text from previous lessons, so I would suggest that you first compose an original script in English and then–using related lessons to help you–translate the dialogue on your own into Spanish.

Ive been taking french lessons for a while now. I can have a conversation in french and write a letter and all that. Im thinking of learning spanish, and some people say its kinda like french, so it will be easy for me to learn it.
